“Why do you write a diary?”, she asked.
“There are some things which need to be said by somebody, but not to be heard, by anybody”, he replied silently.
Yes, Diary Writing makes you a better person — it’s a great way of self-expression.
“A diary is where you keep personal musings about your life, the people in it, and the things you care about. Your diary is a safe place where you can be honest and candid about your thoughts, feelings, and opinions.”
So, what are the benefits?
There are plenty of benefits of writing diaries. Let’s take a look:
It helps you set and achieve goals
You will express yourself better when needed
You understand yourself better
It improves your writing style and quality
It helps you brainstorm new and improved ideas
It helps you stay calm
You create written memories to look at later
It helps you relax and remove the stress
And, many more.
Many people are often confused about what they should write about, and the answer is “anything”.
Yes, you can write about anything in your diary that comes to mind or is related to your daily routine — your imagination is the only limit.
You can take a look at some of the topics that people often write about:
Diary writing topics
travel goals and plans
school or office gossips
feelings and emotions
about your crush or partner
health and fitness
food recipes
exercise and workout
what made you angry
people you care about
your relationship
after-marriage goals
Now, you get the idea, right?
How to start diary writing
Just take a simple notebook and start writing — yes, it’s that simple. You don’t need any special setup to get started.
But:
If you prefer writing on the computer like me, then you can use any note-taking tools like Notion to take notes.
If you prefer using your Smartphone to write diaries then you can use a diary app like Daybook. It also has a feature to password lock your diary entries.
