TBSN #2 - Making Money Online (for Students)
Never buy any paid courses to learn how to make money online. The Internet is a huge pile of information and harvesting what you need is an art.
Namaste! đ
Welcome to âThe Bright Student Newsletter #2â.
â
I am not saying that paid courses are trash â not at all.
Iâll put this another way:
Letâs say you bought an online course to make money online and started following what they taught in the course to do.
But, guess whatâŠ
Hundreds of other people who bought the same course are doing the same thing as they were taught, right?
So, will that work? NO.
What to do then?
Itâs very simple; do not follow a single course or person, try to understand the basics of marketing and business, observe what other people are doing. Start with something smaller like creating a blog and slowly move ahead and this way you will learn from your own experiences and failures.
There are a lot of free resources available on the internet about almost any topic you need to know about, you just have to be good at Googling.
The internet is a huge pile of information and harvesting what you really need is an art.
Believe me, you can make your own space rocket by following the various free resources.
Sticking with the making money topic, below are some ways using which you can learn to make money online.
2 Ways to Learn to Make Money Online
1. Read a Lot
Reading makes you thoughtful.
When you read someoneâs writing, you understand their perspective of the topic; and you read someone elseâs writing on the same topic and you know their perspective. This helps you broaden your thinking process, get new ideas, and see the same problem/thing from a totally different perspective that you wouldnât have by yourself.
Write down topics and their sub-topics on a piece of paper; Google all the topics one-by-one and read the first 10-20 articles that pops-out on each topic. And, thatâs how you learn.
Seems like too much? Yes, learning something is NOT easy.
Nothing is easy â if youâre truly interested in something then it just feels easy but in reality, itâs not.
I started blogging in 2015 and there were 4-5 failed blogs before I could start AspiringYouths. And, AspiringYouths started as a side-project; I just kept publishing valuable articles during my weekends, and it has more than 15,000 active readers today.
How did I learn?
The same way â read a lot.
I have created a Quora Space where I share various making money online and productivity tips, you can follow if youâre interested. đ
2. Take Free Courses
The main benefit of taking courses is that they are organized, unlike reading and collecting everything by yourself.
But, do not buy paid ones.
Why?
Because you donât need one.
There are plenty of free courses available on every topic on Udemy, Skillshare, Coursera, and many other places. Just Google them.
For example, Go to Udemy.com, search for the course youâre looking for, and set the Price Filter to free from the filters option. Enroll in the one which has good comments from students.
Watch multiple courses, learn from them, and note down the topics which were not covered well enough. Later, Google them one-by-one and read the first 10-20 articles, as I explained in the first point.
Some kind person has created this website where you can find multiple online resources to learn anything for free.
â
In my opinion, you should start learning and practicing (during weekends) these skills online while youâre in college or high school, and by the end of the school/college, you will have enough knowledge to start earning online.
I did the same. Yes, after I completed my graduation in 2018, I started blogging full-time because I already had knowledge and experience from which I learned during college.
Thatâs it.
